The FAO 2020:

Balancing Aid, Energy, and Security

Welcome to the FAO: the Food and Agricultural Organization committee! The head of the FAO, José Graziano da Silva, has called delegates from member countries across the world to debate two pertinent and pressing topics: food and energy security and food aid to developing countries. Delegates can expect to hear viewpoints from across the world, as all five geopolitical groups will be represented. With 800 million people hungry in the status quo and the human population expected to reach 8.7 billion by 2030, it is imperative to discuss sustainable and realistic ways to feed and fuel the planet. Not only this, it is crucial to take a look at one of the main tools utilized by organizations to help developing countries, food aid, and see its positive or negative effects.

Unlike prior editions, this meeting of the FAO will be exhilarating and unique not only because of the in depth nature of the committee, but also because the committee will simulate 10 years of international food-related events (from 2020 to 2030).
