JCC- Japan

Crisis

This committee focuses on the Russo-Japanese War, with consideration of events leading up to its start as well as exploring its conclusion and outcomes. This side of the Joint-Crisis Committee will be held from the perspective of Japan, particularly the Japanese military and government as it wages war on Russia following rising tensions caused by Russia’s expansionary policy. The rising influence of powers such as the United States leading into the twentieth century and a global abandonment of isolationist trends as a world launches towards a trajectory of globalization will also be examined in this committee. As delegates, it will be important to successfully wage war on behalf of the Great Empire of Japan on Russia as well as strengthen Japan’s domestic policy in this new 20th century.
